Emily Yeonsoo Jung develops cyclical sculptural systems that metabolise material and immaterial residue through release, delay, and transformation. Drawing from ritual architectures and the structures of loss, her work treats absence as a charged threshold where these residues can be softened, held, and returned to circulation.
Employing rice water, glass, pewter, steel, and other mutable substances, Jung composes protocols with seepage, heat, and trace become method—filtering, dispersing, and slowly reforming what remains. Her installations operate as digestive infrastructures: porous, durational, and responsive to touch, gravity, and time.
