Emily Yeonsoo Jung is a Korean born, Naarm based artist developing cyclical sculptural systems that metabolise material and immaterial residue. Drawing from ritual architectures and structures of loss, her work treats absence as a charged condition to be tended. Employing an empirical vocabulary of rice water, glass, alloy, wax, clay, and mortar, she composes breathing structures that filter, disperse, and reform material across spatial and psychic thresholds. By pushing the properties of these mutable substances, she investigates in-between states where presence and absence are reconfigured.
